So I have a completely irrational fear. About a TV show. Not even a reality show, it's a scripted regular show. With actors. And I spend entirely too much time concerning myself with a silly worry.
Glee.
I love Glee! Love love love. It's my happy place. Best story lines and best music and best cast and best writing. In my totally not-at-all-humble-because-it's-my-blog opinion, it's the best.
But remember how much we all loved and adored Grey's Anatomy when it first came out? Most of the cast came seemingly out of nowhere too. The show was great. Writing was great. Cast was great. They were best friends off set. Had sleepovers and braided each others pigtails. And then they got humongo egos. And started fighting. And the writers got ticked. And left. Or took it out on the cast members via the show. And it all went to hell in a hand basket. Now the story lines are ridiculous, favorite characters were chased away by writers and others have made it clear they want nothing to do with the show when contracts expire.
So my fear is the too-big-for-their-britches phenomenon. Look it up. I'm pretty sure it's real. In my head anyway. They are getting all kinds of fun attention. Well deserved attention. But lots and lots of attention. I would hate for that attention to turn them into demanding divas who fight and go crazy wild. From the Tony Awards (the only award show I like) to the Emmy Awards (I did actually see the beginning number by chance.), to Oprah to magazines....they are all over the place. I think it's a fine line and I am totally, irrationally concerned that they are going to get fat heads from all this sudden fame. And ruin my favorite show. Keeping it real on here and making it all about me! This is my only "must watch" show. I don't want it to now become about the guest stars like Brit and Uncle Jesse. It was the Little Engine That Could and I love that. I love the underdog. But worry it won't be the same now that it's the top dog.
Speaking of dogs. I cannot wait for football season to start. College ball of course. None of that professional blah. Hey what's that coming down the track... Go DAWGS!
Also, is it true that Danielle is off RHNJ? I quit watching all of the RH shows this summer. But I am curious to know if she is off, if it will be more like Bethenny's fab show and more cheerful. I predict Danielle, Heidi, Spencer, Snookie, a Jackson or two and John Gosselin will have a joint project in the near future.
And back to the Emmy Awards. WTH was Kate Gosselin doing in the opening number? Now I don't actually mind her. And I don't know why people get all hot and bothered that she is considered a celebrity. She is, get over it. But I thought that was quite the leap from TLC to the big opening number. Hey Emmy Awards, call me. I'll wear sequins and shake my jazz hands on a stage, too.

I love Glee. And they seem like nice kids. I hope what you say do not come true although there is precedent. That show is amazing.

You're so funny... I do know the writers/producers have acknowledged that they started to sway too much toward making it all about guest stars, so I think there will be less of that. Still some... and I you know I'm UBER excited about the Britney episode!!! But they do intend to keep the major focus on the storylines of the main characters. And apparently they will be adding some Glee members, but the core cast will still be the same.
I agree on Grey's too... I watched that show from episode 1, before it was way popular. Haven't seen the last two seasons at all because it just got weird and I totally lost interest.
From the gossip columns...or Perez Hilton...it seems that Lea Michele is getting too big for her britches. I love the show so I am hoping someone can put her in her place.
Thanks for linking up too FFF. This whole post cracks me up. LOL. Have a great week.
I love this post, I'm also obsessed so no worries! xoxo
I too love Glee and hate the trajectory Grey's Anatomy has taken. Fingers-crossed.
And your last bit about Kate left me in stitches!
I love Glee. LOVE it. I really hope all the gossip I read about the cast isn't true...
