Garden Lesson: Weeds vs. Turnip Greens

So there's a learning curve that comes with gardening.  Especially when you are planting foods that you've never even tasted.  {I have a lot of these this year.}

Now I know what the end product should look like.  But I have no idea what some of the plants look like while growing.

So a few weeks ago I started pulling what I thought were weeds.  Only to realize that they were in fact turnips.  Gah!

Thankfully I didn't pull more than you see here.  So if all goes well, I should {I found three squash bugs on them yesterday though!} have some turnips in time for Thanksgiving.

And now I know what turnip tops look like.
