What's Old Is New Again

We all have our "thing." Or "things." The last many years, I am 100% in need of a 12 (or more!) step program to work through my ridiculous addiction to cotton fabrics. It's out of control. But I love love love fabric! I'm not even ashamed. One of the sub-categories to my ever-growing fabric addiction is Lilly Pulitzer fabric. Which is not exactly easy to find, my friends. At all. It takes effort. LP no longer sells their fabric by the yard. So we, the Lilly-fabric-aholics, are forced to buy it from people who happen to live near the factories in various Asian locations. Whatever, a true addict like myself is always willing to pay shipping for her next "fix."

This spring, I was lucky enough to come across two FABULOUS vintage fabrics. Seriously, they are drool-worthy!! The colors and prints are awesome!! It impresses me to no end that 10, 20 or 30+ year old fabric can still be so classic, timeless and of course, continuously preppy! I have a fantasy of finding yard after yard of LP fabric at a yard sale for two bucks. However, that would require me to actually go to a yard sale. Which would require me to find a yard sale. Which would require me to get up early on a Saturday with a purse full of one dollar bills. Bringing us right back to the key word.....fantasy. Seeing as how I have never actually been to a yard sale (but thanks to blog swaps I have learned to appreciate thrift shops every now and then.....so I'm learning....slowly....), this will remain in the fantasy category. In the mean time, all hail the power of the internet. It's hard for me to believe that when I started college in 1996 I rarely used email, let alone other online stuff. Now I am unlikely to keep in touch with you if you don't email regularly. Amazing how things change so quickly in life!
