I Did It!

Guess who has been wearing contact lenses for the last two hours? Guess! MEEEEEEEE!! I did it!! OMG and am I ever proud of myself! I prayed for bravery from the moment I got up today. I really did not want to take the time to go back again this week. Four visits was obnoxious enough. Anyway, they're in!! It's going to take some getting used to- suction cups on my eyeballs AND a stronger prescription all at one time. But I just know I will like the freedom of not wearing glasses every day. I've taken to calling myself a part time contact lens user. I mean, I still really like the look of glasses so its not like I am going to do away with wearing them altogether. To celebrate I indulged in waaaay too many calories at Dunkin Donuts and then bought a new pair of sunglasses at Tar-jay. Woo-hoo!!

Thanks a million for all of your sweet and encouraging comments last week! I've re-read them over and over and over again. And I tried every one of your techniques, too. Kisses!!

Congrats! I first got my contacts in the 3rd grade and didn't have the courage to put them in till right before 8th grade!! I too was queasy about touching my eye, so I know exactly how you felt! With more practice you're gonna love them!!

Congrats!! I have yet to transition to contacts.. they scare the bejesus out of me! I tried to use them for my wedding (the daily disposable ones) I was able to get them in my eye but I could NOT get them out! 2 hours later, mascara streaming down my face, I finally removed them (while still at the dr's office- they were not as patient with me anymore for some reason...) So, I applaud you and your bravery! I'm hoping one day I will get the courage to do it again :)

YAY! Way to go! :) Make sure you put in rewetting drops a lot to keep your eyes moist as they get used to the contacts.

Congrats! It took me hours (and a lot of crying and yelling) to get my contacts in but I was determined! I just got mine 2 years ago and am doing pretty well now.

Welcome to the world of contacts! I could not live without mine - I have a pair of "backup" glasses, but when I run out of contacts, it is a medical emergency!
