For those who, like me, have never grown anything other than some patio tomatoes and herbs, this post is for you. This is what mesclun lettuce looks like after about a week. The larger leaves along the edge or about two weeks old. The most adorable lettuce I've ever seen! I can't wait until it grows large enough to eat though.

And can you see the teeny tiny green sprouts in the photo below? Look hard. Those are teeny tiny baby carrots. I planted a row of peas and two different squash plants too. But so far, I don't have much excitement on that front. Come August I should be eating veggies grown from my very own baby garden though!

And this is a peony grown by daddy-o. I LOVE LOVE peonies!! They just make me smile!

what cute little leaves! the peony is beautiful!!
What a great garden! I would love to be able to grow some of my own things!
I just planted a garden with my mom too! Yours looks so adorable!
Looking good!
I love your little sprouts and what a pretty peony! I have been trying to grow daisies but my daddy moved the pot over into the shade and it killed all but one plant - phooey. Since we don't have a yard we can plant in (we live in a condo) our back deck is full of potted plants including lettuce, peppers, tomatoes and herbs. Makes for some good cooking!
