Perfect White Button Down

Ladies,

Do any of y'all own that perfect white button down shirt? If you said yes, do any of y'all have boobs that are a D cup or larger? Feel like giving me the details? I have a well endowed chest. It is what it is...and it's on the larger end of the spectrum. Not like Dolly or anything but you know, not an A or B cup. And long arms. It's a royal riot shopping, I tell 'ya! Any and all suggestions are very welcome.

Thanks!

I have had great success with Land's End- I wear the same size there I wear in most shirts and I don't have any gapping problems. I'm not very tall so I don't have very long arms, but I think they would be long enough - my mom swears by them too. And for what it's worth, I'm a 38D to give you some comparison.

I have a couple from Gap that don't have a gapping problem, but I really want some new ones... Let me know what you find. I don't have that big of a chest I feel like and it's still a struggle!

PS. Yay Obama ;)

I'm SO with you!! In order for them to fit over "the girls", my shirts end up being too baggy and less tailored looking. Clinton and Stacey suggest buying up then having them tailored in to fit, but I've never actually tried that....Can't wait to see all the good shirt advice you get!!

I am a DD, so I feel your pain! I just bought a fantastic white shirt from Cabi. I really like it because it zips up the front, so I don't have to worry about gaping buttons. Cabi can only be purchased through a consultant. I host a trunk show twice a year. Its a lot of fun, the clothes are great, and the prices are reasonable.
Check out the 24/7 shirt on cabionline.com

I have the "D"s and I have had good luck with the Eddie Bauer no wrinkle dress shirt. It's not real fitted, but not too blousy either. The material is some sort of no wrinkle cotton. And, much to my surprise, it actually doesn't wrinkle and washes like a dream. I have this one in the extended cuff. http://www.eddiebauer.com/EB/Women/Shirts--Blouses/Wrinkle-Resistant-Shirts--Blouses/index.cat#ppl=%7Btype%3A%22hide%22%7D

ah, yah. I am a curvy girl too and have a difficult time with button down shirts. Not fitted enough and they just hang messy, too fitted, and um, buttons start to pop. I have good luck with the J.Crew Kelly shirt - it has nice darts to fit well and room in all the right places- I have 4 of them and they fit and wear well. Great colors. I am VERY curvy. Try those on for size! Good luck!!!

I've found that the RL classic fit (NOT the skinny fit) shirts are a good option.

I have DD's and I wear the polo ralph lauren oxford button downs.

Hi! Love your blog to bits! I say Brooks Brothers or the Gap. Both worked fine for me.

I always have the same problem! But then I found j. crew 3 quarter length button ups, and I practically live in the white ones (I bought a bunch of them. The 3/4 length also takes care of the long arms. There's no gaping- which is incredible, because they fit incredibly well everywhere else (c:

Ahhh!!! This is my eternal quest...I've been "blessed" in the chest too...I can't find a consistent company that I like, just a shirt here or there that I wear to death. The last one I found was actually at Target.

Okay, here's what I do! I buy the shirt a size larger. Just one size! then I either cuff the sleeve, or I take it to a tailor and have them fit it to me. Works like a charm.

I HEAR YOU GIRLFRIEND! I am cursed, I mean blessed ,with DD's and I HATE THEM. Anyway, am glad to see someone has found some luck. I can't help you. We should all get together, us bigger-chested ladies, and share our shopping secrets! Thanks!

I wear a 36 F and this shirt fits me great. I have a bunch of colors in the same cut. I always get compliments! You may have to go into the store to make sure you get the white one. It's a bit confusing online. There is also a short sleeved version. SO CUTE!

The 24/7 shirt from Cabi is AWESOME! It is the first shirt I have found that is comfortable, looks good and fits properly! You buy them in home shows, but go to www.cabionline.com and I'm sure they will hook you up!
