Dirty Housewife Chicken

Um...since when did eating chicken become a racial thing? Did anyone else watch the reunion show of Real Housewives of Atlanta last night? You know the show where they actually live in the Atlanta suburbs and are far from what one might typically define as a housewife? Yeah, that show. This is the kind of crap TV that I just love when I am in a veg out mood. So bad it's good. So terrible I just can't turn away. I love it and all of it's trashiness! OK so back to the chicken. The feud between NeNe and Kim apparently was only fueled further by Kim's comment about not wanting to come to the Bar-b-q because she didn't feel like eating chicken. And NeNe decided that was racist. Um, if someone invited me to a BBQ, I would also assume chicken or burgers. I would be pleasantly surprised if it was fish or pork or whatever but if you call it a BBQ, chicken I will assume. Regardless of your skin tone. I didn't realize that black people were "stereotypical chicken eaters??" I'm white - practically Casper white - and I eat chicken at least twice a week. Usually more. I just thought that whole thing was dumb.

Speaking of Kim and NeNe....what's the big deal? They both said crappy things about the other one. They both gossiped and talked smack about each other. They were both rude. They are both crazy. They should both get over it and move on because they seemed like they were the only two women on the show who had a semblance of a genuine friendship.

I love Kim's voice. Seriously, beyond hilarious! How does she not know what she sounds like. Let me tell you sister....pick a new career. I also can't believe she is 30. If you saw my face next to hers, you would think I was her daughter. She looks 45. Less hair and less makeup would do the girl some good!

What's the back story of Lisa going off on Kim? That had to come from somewhere, right? She was the most boring cast member. No drama. I can't stand drama in my life but I fully expect it on Real Housewives. Maybe this is something she too realized and that's what the dramatic yelling fit was about last night?

I am dying to know if DeShawn is able to keep her house staff now that her hub is leaving the NBA. If she, or any of the other women, called herself "Atlanta elite" one more time I was going to throw up. Ta ta ta tacky! Nothing elite about that, ladies! They were all crazy beyond full of themselves but I think DeShawn takes the cake.

Sharee was my least favorite cast member. Oooh honey, does she think she is good looking! And I totally believe that she left NeNe off the guest list on purpose. 100%. I love that she blames her clothing line flopping before it even begins on everyone under the sun except herself. Maybe she and Kim are a good fit for each other. One can't design or sew but insists on being called a fashion icon and the other can't sing or even walk up a flight of stairs without being winded but insists on being called a singing superstar.
I can't wait for the NY ladies to come back. They're actually my favorite of the three cities. Don't worry, I still watch CNN and TLC and the History Channel too. I feel it balances out my trashy TV viewing nicely.

These women are ridiculous. It's so funny because every article printed in the AJC about this show is over Atlanta's disgust with it. Gosh I really hope viewers don't think these women really represent what Atlanta is. OMG.

You hit the nail on the head with that. Those women are insane and they think the world revolves around them. I lived with a black girl in college from Atlanta. She had money and dated a Falcon's player. I think it's the city that does that to people because she acted like that too.

I'm just laughing at the "racist" comment. Hello, she is the ONLY WHITE GIRL on the show. How is SHE racist? Whatever!!

I wish they had gotten some classier ladies to be on this show, you know...we do have some of that in the Atlanta/Roswell area.

Hilarious post. Trashtactic television is so right. Everyone in the state of Georgia can now come out of hiding because these ladies are off the air. I have a feeling they will be back.

I agree - this show is so bad, it's good. Total train wreck. I am white and like chicken.

I love that brain-dead show. As Sharee says it's "fabalus".

Since I live in Atlanta, I do have to say the whole "chicken" thing can be taken as racist. And don't forget watermelon. Whatever. And I do believe Kim meant it to be racist because that's the way she is.... Will get a dig in whenever she can. She dates married men, after all. Anyway, I know the producers probably wanted to go for the whole drama effect, but these women did not represent (to me)what Atlanta is all about. The designer for one of the Housewives was a client of mine and let me just say that you can have money and no taste and no manners. And they didn't pay their bills, either. Supposedly make millions and I had to constantly hound them to pay. Go figure. Atlanta is so much more than pro players and hip-hop. I hope they don't get renewed for next year. Not a single one of them had any class at all.

Seriously? That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard! How on earth can two regular, every-day foods be attributed to one particular race??!! That's absurd and just plain crazy talk! Do other skin colors have foods attributed to them too? Am I the only person who has never heard of this before? It's all rather weird if you ask me.

This show is a terrible representation of Atlanta. These women look totally trashy. It's like they are saying this is what successful Atlanta women are like. Sad.

These women are completely ridiculous! Getting in fights and arguments over nothing. It's just so crazy! I'm so thankful that I have more sense!

I just found your blog and had to comment! I just love this post! These women are indeed crazy! It almost seems like they are trying to make everything they can into drama so that Bravo will pick them up again. I agree that the chicken comment being made into a race thing was so stupid. I am white and chicken is my favorite meat. When I B-B-Q I always have chicken! Another thing that really annoyed me is how Sheree kept calling her fashion show/party a viewing. The only sort of viewing I have ever been to is when someone has passed away. Call it what it is woman! It's a fashion show if you are going to show your designs! It doesn't matter if it's on a catwalk or being worn around the party by models. Everytime she called it her viewing, I laughed!

I used to watch the NY Housewives and the Orange County ones. They are all just vapid dummys. Except the Countess from the Housewives of NY, I did really like her.

Housewives of Orange County was my favorite group (except for Jo). This group from Atlanta did make for some good entertaining.

I found it funny that these people talked so highly of themselves and said they were Altanta's high society group and all I saw was a lot of big egos with no class. People with class and dignity don't act the way those girls did.

Lisa was the tamest of them all. I actually did like her until the reunion.

Hilarious Post!! I am so with you! I want the NY ladies to come back, I have missed them so. I was a regular at watching them, I couldn't bring myself to be one with the Atlanta "ladies". I did know that the whole chicken thing was taken as racist, but I think the BBQ comment doesn't count because I believe the racist comment about chicken is fried chicken. I know, silly!! I love chicken, fried, grilled, whatever!! I heard the other day someone got offended my the comment "black hole" yes the ones in space...hello?? why??

It was like watching a train wreck. I didn't want to watch, but I couldn't help but watch. I am definitely Team Nene

I'm not sure I can adequately communicate how irate I was when I first watch the real housewives of atlanta. I was expecting southern belles and blonde hair and pearls and sundresses. Instead what we got were a bunch of classless tasteless clowns. HORRIBLE! I lived in Atlanta for a while and my parents still do - the "Atlanta elite" is not real - the city is too damn big! Yeesh okay I'm done - long story short I totally agree with you - hope you're doing well :)
