And Just Like That, Winter Arrived
It snowed today. On the eighth day of November. Not just a few flakes either. A few inches. Which is normally no big thing up here. But it was that sticky yucky wet snow and all of a sudden people didn't seem to know how to react. It took me twice as long to get anywhere. And oh yeah, it's cold! And NOVEMBER. Not January. Pre-school teachers everywhere claim this to be fall. Heck, leaves are still on the trees. But the white mess covering my city and me having to scrape my windshield six times today are proof that winter has officially arrived. So I dug my ugly Uggs out of the back of my closet and and took the dog for a walk. And Sadie by the way, loves snow. So at least one of us is happy tonight. Burr!
This better mean that spring will arrive super duper early in 2011. I'm talking March early. Flip flops, sundresses and t'maters by April. Could happen. In Florida.

Oh my. Snow before Thanksgiving is just too early.
Had to LOL at your "preschool teachers everywhere claim that it is Fall"...I am a speech-language pathologist who works with preschool aged children...and we are in the midst of our Fall unit! ;)
Oooo lucky you! It hasnt snowed here yet :/ But i have hope! haha
Can I just say..I am so jealous. I love the snow and I want cold weather! South Mississippi is still freaking 80 degrees!!

Hmmm...now wondering where you are at. My home-state had their first snowfall as well today. :)
SNOW!!! Can you believe I have seen snow here 4 times in my 37 yrs! (and when I say snow, that's really stretching it, HAHA) Ain't happening in Ala =)
it rained here the other day, that's the sign of the desert that cold season is here.
have a wonderful winter :)
Snow! I have to admit that I am jealous! Although, I would have no idea what to do if it snowed in Nov. If we even have flurries in Georgia, we start shutting down the schools and raiding the grocery store for bread, milk, and eggs. We are so silly about snow down here.
I wish it was cold here! Last week it was in the upper 40s/lower 50s, but this week it's in the mid 60s! I'm tired of all this weird weather--I want some fall weather before winter begins!
Got a good giggle from your post. Us South Africans have such a "romantic" idea of snow seeing as we never get any!!! Guess you just cleared up that little fairy-tale. So maybe I can make my peace that a Summer Christmas here isn't too much of a hardship after all ;) Hope you stay warm xxx
snow? wow

We had our first snow fall this week, but it is about 2 months later than usual, so I am praying that spring arrives before summer -it didn't last year.
I know, I can't wait for our next trip to Florida....next month! So long to 60 degree weather, boo! I also long to wear my Bonannos/J. Rogers again, LOL!
Beauutiful Autumn Saturday here in New England!
We got some snow twice last week and are expecting a snowy weekend both days. However, it's sunny outside while I write this, so I will hold out hope that it won't snow.
I believe people drive about 10 miles faster when it snows around here and they takes more chances with their lives. What's up with that? Snow starts to fall and the IQ of thousands of people start to fall too. Go figure.
Hey there miss lovely Preppy Pink Crocodile! Thanks for the kind comment. Yip ... I press that cookie dough into a cookie baking sheet and once they are cooked, cut them into little squares. Watch this space ... I'll post the recipe as soon as I get a moment :)
wish it would snow even just a bit here too. have a happy holidays :)
