Blackberry Question

I have no idea where I put the booklet and can't (easily) find the answer on Verizon's website. So I'm asking y'all instead. Does anyone know how to set the pink blackberry to silent? Also, my phone apparently called one of my girlfriends twice last night from my purse. She says the bag and phone didn't have much to say though. I can only guess who else the darn thing is calling when I am not around. So does anyone know how to lock (and also unlock) the buttons? Any advice is greatly appreciated!! Kisses!

put the phone in standby mode, it locks the keys until you press the standby button again. its the button on the top left, just hold it down. also to put the phone on silent scroll to the top right where the speaker is. click on it and scroll to off then click. it will turn the phone on silent then!

If you get a chance, drop by a Verizon store, they should be able to show you all the features you want to know about. I did this with one of my phones before, my last phone would go online all the time by itself. Drove me nuts!

To lock the buttons hit the Blackberry button (the one to the left of the center button) and then scroll down to where the picture of the lock is. Selecting that will lock it, and then to unlock it you'll need to press * and then the green phone button. Let me know if this doesn't make sense and I'll try and explain it better. :)

I can set mine to "silent" (or vibrate) by pressing the lowest little button on left side. That brings up my ring options and silent/vibrate is one of them.

I can also "lock" it by pressing the button on the top left. Hold it down and that will lock it (press the same button to unlock it).

However - mine is an AT&T BB - so I don't know if this will help 100%.

Hope so!

To put blackberries on silent - go to profiles. On my curve it's a little person icon. I know its very easy to use the lock mode - I just don't remember how to set it with passwords. To lock your phone just go to the lock icon. Hope this helps ... you'll learn to love the blackberry soon.

I have Verizon. The lock/unlock is a pain SO I set one of my Shortcut buttons (located on the sides of your BB... default is camera & something else). In settings you can change what those open. I use one for Address Book & the other for Lock (* then green send button to unlock). Makes it very handy! As for changing the sound profile - scroll over the main menu for "Profiles." There are a few dif options.
Hope this helps, Nina

I love that. My sister's BBerry (aka the Crack Berry) used to call me from her car every morning - I got to listen to her commute and her car radio - best is when she sings! She finally figured how how to lock it. Boy, did I hear some good stuff!
