I always hate how they style these dresses. Nude heels? She just looks confused. |
I didn't take time to figure out what. So I just typed in my credit card #2. Three times. Still said something was wrong. I knew nothing was wrong with either card so I finally called Ruelala.
The gal with whom I spoke was so nice but had the s l o w e s t computer known to man. Tick tock tick tock...my items were now sold out! You'd think that a company selling things based on speed would give their employees fast computers. You'd think.
Her computer didn't even show a record of credit card #2. Which is annoying as I typed it in at least three times. She looked and typed and the bottom line is that once something is sold out, it in fact is really sold out. And there is no waiting list for returned items. I asked. Returned items go back to the maker. So Lilly Pulitzer in this case.
I really really really wanted this skirt and dress! Like I am still near tears over the matter. I mean, I was online on time. I had those items in my cart during the all five attempts to type in my credit card numbers. I have determined that it is a Ruelala system error seeing as how it didn't even show the second credit card. And the number I typed in for the first was correct.
I know it's not the end of the world. But I had visions of wearing that patch skirt and crocodile dress all summer. Sad sad preppy day for a particular pink crocodile.

I was on at 11 too and all the things i wanted were sold out by the time i checked out :(
OH NO! This breaks my heart! When I tried to type my AmEx number, it tried to tell me they didn't accept AmEx. I told them they were silly and tried again, and luckily it accepted it the second time around. I'm guessing there was something screwy with their system all around, not that it helps much. :(
How annoying! :( This happened to me once on ideeli and I missed out on a bag I wanted (and am still sad about)! AND almost happened to me AGAIN on ideeli two weeks ago, but they were able to solve my problem in time, thankfully.

Bummer! You should store your credit card info on RLL - it makes for a very quick checkout! Try eBay in a couple weeks to see if you can find the items you wanted. Hope you have better luck next time!!
SO sad I didn't get anything for myself either it was sold out by the time I got back from class. I saw the leaping lizards print in something when I was at the lilly store in watercolor just like 2 weeks ago. It was on sale you might want to call barefoot princess in watercolor to see!
I KNOW! I was entering my information and one of my items disappeared from my cart! Seriously, you have to be a speed demon to purchase a Lilly or other hot ticket item via Rue La La. Sorry you didn't get your item!
Sorry friend! That stinks! That happened to me last time. I stored my cc and this time it made for an easier checkout. I will keep my eyes peeled while on ebay and see if I can find it for you!
I have never had good luck with Rue La La but decided I would try again. Same thing, everything sold out in 10 minutes. I had 9 things in my cart and when I went to check out they were gone. Apparently they don't "hold" items for you when they are in your cart so you have to buy them immediately. This doesn't solve your problem, but I do agree the company has some kinks to iron out. Hopefully we will both have better luck next time. Or we could just go to the warehouse sale :)

i was after the strawberry patch shorts to match my minnie's dress and the catch of the day silk top -- both were SNATCHED from my shopping bag at appx 11:05-- boo for us all!
Bummer..so sorry for your "loss"....haha. I know it stinks when you have your heart set on something though! I go to www.shopstyle.com a lot, type in your item and it will show you whoever might have it, its a great resource to know about in general.....hope you find your items..they were both adorable...so agree the model looks confused with the nude heels..whats with that?
I wanted two shifts and Callihans AND they were available in my size however it would not have been a responsible purchase. le sigh!

I went to the Lilly warehouse sale last Dec and bought both of these! I do have to brag that I got the skirt for $20! It is a good skirt!!

Also, another note, if you can wait a little while for an item you liked, that you missed on Rue La La, Smart Bargains re-sells all of the Rue La La Lilly returns, sometimes at a cheaper price, but it usually doesn't show up on Smart Bargains for another three months or so. If you did get some items, I'd love to know what all you purchased! I missed out on a dress I wanted, but I can always wait for it to show up on Smart Bargains.
I've had that happen to me so many times in the past. Aggrivating doesn't even describe it!
I'm sorry that happened. There can be nothing more frustrating than that!!!
Aww that stinks that you missed out on your items! You should try the Re-Lilly group on Facebook to see if any one posts anything from the sale!
I hate when that happens - had it happen to me on Gilt and I was really bummed. Maybe next time...
