I was just in Target for a few things (Really, I really truly did come out of there with only a few things purchased. Miracle of all miracles!) and buzzed past the clothing section. I don't care how cute it is, I am in no mood to shop for clothing this time of year. First of all, it is bleeping cold outside. And Georgia girls, I don't want to hear how it's 30 and 40 down there. The weather man just announced that next week we are getting a warm front and it might reach the low 30's. That's our "warm front" mind you. Anyhoo.... I am not in the mood to take off my 4000 layers of puffiness to try on anything. I live my life with a single goal in mind, to never wear a bathing suit. So you can guess how amused I am to see them staring me in the face in bleeping January. Hello, I just said our warm front will reach all of 30. I'm thinking that's still not quite bathing suit weather.
OK so then my eye spied some fabulous colors. Pink and green of course. Adorable coats in the most fabulously rich colors. And lined in a cute polka dot print. My question is, who exactly are they marketing these coats towards? No one that lives in New England for sure!! They are beautiful and cute and I own several similar coats. But there is all of two weeks in the fall and two in the spring (er....early summer?) when this light coat might be appropriate. Because kids, it's ...say it with me.....bleeping cold up here!

So as much as I love the colors and styles, Target can take these coats and bathing suits back down to states where the sun does actually shine. Up here, we will be wearing puffy and fuzzy everything until at least early May. Or June. One never knows around these parts.

Ohh, I adore that green! I will have to check and see if our Target has that color. You can live through me and the Dallas warm weather!!
My guess is they're marketing to those who take vaca to warmer climates in the winter... And hello, it's flipping freezing down here, thank you. I'm sure we're about to run out of bread and milk!
If it is any consolation it is going to be a whopping 4 degrees when I get up to go to class tomorrow...I am not looking forward to it!
-1 degree here right now...I am SO with ya!
I hate when they bring out the spring stuff this early!
Love those coats!
I do live where the sun shines and I hate seeing that stuff in January. That is why I am trying to not buy anything until March.
I left you something on my blog!
Cute coats!
We're down to -13 tonight. Hopefully we'll hit a high of 0 tomorrow!
I don't know who's going to wear those, I also have some transitional coats that I haven't worn in years!
I think they have our targets mixed up! It's 85 degrees here!! I am tagging you on tomorrows post so come on over!
OMG. I *must* own the yellow patterned coat!
Not to be horrid but I'm one of those warmer climate gals and could totally see myself wearing this 50+ weeks of the year. Thank goodness it's Target - maybe I'll get two! :)
I love the green coat!
I think they would like you to surprise your friends in the South with a little pressie in the form of an adorable coat! hehe I always get aggravated here b/c the cute stuff they show on TV is NEVER in the store!
have a good weekend!
Girl, I WISH it was in the 20's and 30's. When I went outside this morning to take out the trash, the thermometer said 14 degrees!
CUTE coats! I'll have to look at my Target as well! And I totally feel your icy cold pain - it was 2 degrees yesterday here!
I love these coats! I am a Georgia girl and could wear almost the entire year! I am so sorry you are so cold where you are at, maybe you should take a winter vacation to a warmer climate :)
Those are cute but I am sorry you are snowed under (literally!)!
hahaha! I totally agree! I always look at these types of coats and then promptly put them back, because its a waste of money. I have one Spring/Fall coat and I hardly wear it! I'd rather in vest in another puffy parka!!!
See...I hate to say it but in Chilly (50 degress) Houston those coats are perfect! And like Buford Betty it is called "cruise wear" when the sell it in January and it is marketed to those going on vacation although I am guessing that with this economy, that is not as many as it usually is.

Good grief, how did I miss these adorable jackets three years ago?! I SO wish this post wasn't old! :D
