Sewing Questions

For those who sew...

Do you have a serger? Do you like it? Is it one of those things you never use or use waaay more than you thought you would? Does it scare you with all those needles and spools of thread? Can you use regular thread or do you have to use those giant cones? Give me your thoughts....

Thanks bunches, gals!!

I've been looking at sergers for awhile now. I would like to get one. A friend of mine uses hers all the time. She said she can't make bedding or curtains without it.

I used to use one at the College of Textiles ALL THE TIME and I WISH I had one at home. It's SO easy and the bond is pretty strong. Not sure about the thread specifics (although I don't think it's too restrictive) but if you can find one for a good price, you'll probably like it as much as I do! Please post if you find one :-)

I do have a serger and I used it alot when my children were young. Now I use it for napkins and bedding. They are a little hard to thread and you do need to use the cones of thread.

I have always heard if you are going to get one, its worth paying for it...don't try to go the cheap route! They are great for curtains!!!
