Sweatshirt

Does anyone know where I can find a good quality, solid-colored sweat shirt? I've bought from Target and Walmart and don't like any of them. Arms too short or body too short or they get pilly after only one wash. But I have a college sweatshirt and it's still soft and smooth after hundreds of washes. That's what I am looking for. So if you know where I can find this surprisingly difficult to find item, I will be truly grateful!!

I bought cute pink ones for Katie and I (for Twin Day at school) at KMart - Joe Boxer brand - I think I paid $7 and went back for a navy one since its soft and washes well.

I'm not a sweatshirt person really, so I'm not much help on plain ones. Though the college ones I have are all a certain brand because I love the way they fit and they hold up really well. I wanna say the brand is something like GEAR? Gear something or something Gear. Wow, that's super helpful, huh?!

My absolute favorite sweatshirt is Gildan (maybe Gilden?) and it's 11 years old from my high school track days. I also have a bunch of GEAR ones just like Buford Betty because they made the best ones at my law school's bookstore.

I love polo sweatshirts! I only have crewnecks, not sure if they make hooded but they're super comfy and cute!

Weird suggestion, but a few of my favorite sweatshirts I got second-hand, like at Goodwill. They are already worn-in and super soft!! Plus, the price is right! And they might say something nifty like "Floyd County Football" :-)

Have you tried JoAnns or even Michaels in their crafty areas? I have no idea of the quality on those. Another thought might be to contact one of those places that does team sport apparel; I am sure they can sell you the sweatshirts without anything on them. Good luck!!!

Another thought (as I realized I was sitting here in a Schenectady Christian School sweatshirt that I have had for half a dozen years and it has retained its shape and such): I looked at the tag an it is made by Jerzees "Super Sweat" http://www.jerzees.com/jerzeesactivewear/Fleece.aspx

Just a thought!!!

I love my Champion sweatshirts too. I think they are the Proweave line. They aren't cheap, however I gave my brother one for Christmas a few years ago and every time I see him he has it on. It still looks good!

Yay, I knew my sweatshirt expertise would come in handy one day :)! I am a buyer for a college bookstore, and my favorite brand (for the price and quality) is Jansport. They are made by the Lee company so a blank Lee sweatshirt should be comparable. I know we have some Lee outlets around here, but you may just do a google search for Lee sweatshirts. The 50/50 blend is just their standard sweatshirt, but they do make an 80/20 blend which is a heavy weight sweatshirt. Other brands that are good are Gear and Nike, but they are going to be a little more expensive.
Another great place to try would be LL Bean. They have really nice blank sweatshirts and fleeces. If you have any other questions, just let me know! Good luck (and sorry for sounding like such a sweatshirt know-it-all nerd :))!!!

Glad to know about the Walmart ones. I saw a big Hanes display of them in lots of yummy colors for so cheap and always wanted to get one but just never did.

They're sorta hard to find!

What I want is a simple kelly green cable crew neck sweater in a good quality and I can't find one either!!

Champion... for sure. All of my ASU sweaters are Champion and they are the best.

I second A.D.'s suggestion to try LL Bean. I bought a zip sweatshirt from Target a couple of weeks ago, wore it and washed it once, and it shrunk to half its size so I returned it this week.

I'm also a fan of the Champion sweatshirts. My favorite college sweatshirt is a Champion. I have had it for several years and it has really held up well.
