Chicken Art And Booze

Last weekend, I went up to Manchester, VT to check out the Manchester Fall Art and Craft Festival.  Even though it was cloudy and misty and muddy and the festival site was hit by a monsoon the day before (true story, one of the art tents had legit rivers running through it), I had a great time.

The art was fantastic- a little something for everyone.  Kristina Wentzell was my favorite artist.  She actually wasn't in the big art tents at all.  Instead she has an old camper that she uses.  The Happy Camper mobile art gallery.  It's all decked out with aqua and pink inside.  Gingham and rick rack curtains...pure cuteness.  Geranium pink bench...ah-dorable.  And lots and lots of chicken paintings...be still my heart.  Hello isn't this just the most fun way to shop for art?!

The food was crazy good too.  Not at all your typical fair food.  In fact, I don't know if there was anything being fried other than sweet potato fries (which I shared with a friend and they were to die for) and falafel balls.  This vendor below brought their own food fired pizza oven.  I had the yummiest bowl of corn potato chowder and mint iced tea.  And when I first arrived a much needed cup of hot apple cranberry cider.

My favorite part of the show was the tent behind the food tent.  We didn't even notice it at first.  But let me tell you, it was nothing short of delightful.  What was in that magical tent?  Booze.  And food.  But mostly booze.  All made in Vermont.  And I found it so amusing.

I'll save those details for another post but know this...I came home with a hybrid of apple cider and Baileys.  Holy yummy!

thanks so much for featuring the Happy Camper! I'm glad you enjoyed the Manchester show--despite the mud. :-)
