That being said, I have a new pet peeve. Females wearing football/sports jerseys. Actually, I think it is nearly as tacky when males wear them too. So really, anyone wearing a faux football jersey annoys me. Besides the fact that they are made of that slick, shiny, poly-blend material, they are not flattering. I don't care if you tailor it to the high heavens. You either look like a shiny box or Kendra. Neither is good.

Hear me out. Would you wear a tutu to the Nutcracker? Of course not. Would you wear a skating dress to watch Michelle Kwan ice skate? Um, no. Did you see Michael Phelps momma wearing a Speedo at the Olympics as her son came in first? Heck no. Would you wear a habit to Mass if you are not a nun? Unlikely. So why oh why oh why to folks wear those tacky jersey shirts to football games? What's wrong with a normal cotton t-shirt? I'm not saying you need to wear a polo shirt or LBD. But enough is enough when it comes to the shiny jersey shirts. If you are not actually, physically participating in the sport (as in catching the ball- not participating by yelling loudly), they please wear normal clothing. No one is going to see you at the bar and think, "OMG did you actually play in the big game today?!" You are fooling no one, but are doing a swell job of looking like a fool. Ponder that for a while and get back to me.

I sooo agree! For me, "game day attire" consists of a cute dress or a polo in a team color. No jerseys for me, thank you!
I totally agree
Hahaha, I never really thought about it but I agree. :)
ITA!!!!!
Around here the jersey is usually worn with skin tight rocker jeans, high top running shoes and a big black Harley Davidson purse with a racoon tail hanging from it! UGH!!!
Football fans are funny creatures. Go to any game in America and you will see all kinds of outrageous dress. Definitely a sightseeing extravaganza! Do you feel the same way about imitation cheerleader outfits? I think I have more issues with people who paint their faces.
I couldn't agree more!! Thanks for finally saying out loud what so many well dressed people think!
very good point Preppy Pink Crocodile!!! lol
I could not agree with you more! And I think the Pink sports team stuff is no better because the team colors are NOT pink!
"You either look like a shiny box or Kendra."
I am cracking up!
I hate seeing people in jerseys. Especially on a Tuesday afternoon. It is even worse when it isn't even game day. If I have sons, jerseys of all sorts will be banned except for Halloween costumes.
Yeah, I'm not a fan either. I never wear jerseys because it looks like I'm wearing a colorful, uncomfortable potato sack.
I never wear a jersey (except when I went to a Cowboys game like forever ago) but I get more annoyed when a girl wears a jersey and she is CLEARLY not a true, die hard fan! They wear it to pick up guys or something. That to me is more annoying!!
Too funny! People who wear those things are the same people who say, "yeah, we played a good game today--gave it our all". Excuse me, but "We" played a good game today?
Thanks for making me laugh, I too totally agree!
I think that's too funny. I agree, probably b/c I've never been able to pull off the "look cute in a jersey" that very few, if any, can pull. I'm more into color coordinating my twin set with the team colors :-)
I totally agree with you! I hate those things! I have some friends who sometimes wear them, and I want to shake them!!
This falls under "no clothes with words on them"...numbers, either!
Feel the same...very, very tacky!
I must agree as well!
Kendra.
Teehee.
I hate them too, but you can thank the NFL for their stellar marketing.
Oh my gosh! I just found your blog and I HAD to comment on this post. This is SUCH a pet peeve of mine! I'm all about a cute dress in the appropriate colors instead.
I was just directed to your blog. Oh you make me laugh. Especially "Phelps mom wearing a speedo at his events" ha ha ha. I look forward to reading more of your thoughts in the days to come.
