As soon as I mixed in the cereal, I realized I did something wrong. So I added more cereal. It just seemed to be so liquidy. After adding THREE more cups of cereal, I decided that must be plenty. The mixture was not quickly solidifying like usual, but then again, it had been three years or so since I last made them. I brushed the greasy look off to not remembering correctly. I tasted some while hot and it was very greasy and sticky and chewy. So I popped it in the fridge. After it hardened I tasted it again. There was this disgusting layer of grease gunk on the bottom- seriously so gross. And they were still chewy- not crunchy like normal RK treats. It was only then that I googled the recipe. To realize that I likely used too many marshmallows AND DOUBLED the amount of butter. I waited another hour to see if things got better, they didn't, so into the trash can they all went. Talk about a royal waste! Oh well, lesson learned and my craving is totally gone, too! I will say that the coconut flavor marshmallows added a fun extra spunk to the treats. Everything else was just plain gross though!

Oh no!
I have no cooking talents. My parents won't let me even bake cookies. They say I'll burn the house down!
That is sad and funny. I can see me running into a problem like that too.
I love homemade rice krispies, but I like you never make them. Now I am kinda craving one!!!
