I'm a Genius!

I bought this cutie new bag as another "happy birthday to me" prezzie last week from the bean. Love it. So pink and green and cute and sturdy and just a quality bean bag. But after using it for a few days I was going a little batty trying to find my keys. Last weeks was rainy and windy and not having a pocket for easy key access was causing me to be grumpy. Not to mention that the bag was in total disarray with paper and pens and everything else all mixed together. So then I had my genius moment. I need to make some sort of pocket organizer thingy for myself. I measured and used some leftover canvas fabric that was just sitting in a scrap drawer. After I made it and used it for a day I realized that I needed to make another one in pink and green to properly match the bag. And I did go buy said fabric this past weekend. But until then, looky loo! I have a pocket for everything from keys to chapstick to mints to nail file and everything else. My wallet now lives happily in the center of the bag with nothing else getting in its way. This was seriously one of my best ideas ever. I now have a cute bag and I am not pulling my hair out looking for anything anymore. It's the little things in life that make me so happy sometimes!

I love that bag! I just peeked at it on Bean but i noticed they don't offer your monogram style which, is the peice de resitance. Did you take elsewhere for that fancy work or did i miss something in my research?

Mary Alice-

I had it monogrammed in the store. I didn't realize that they would offer different options in store vs online. But we are all big and fancy pants up here in NY State (read: sarcasam) and have a big new Bean store. You might try calling the store (my store is in Cohoes NY- though online it might list it as Troy or Albany- I am pretty sure it is the only store in Upstate NY) to see if they might ship to you instead of online.

Genius! I love that tote! I once saw an infomercial that sold a similar thing to organize purses but yours is much cuter I must say! Did you use a sewing machine?

Hey! I started bloggin today, stumbled upon your blog, and really enjoyed reading it :)

Another purse organization idea...I have Vera Bradley bags (all in Bermuda Pink) that I fill with the necessities. That way, when I change purses, I can simply dump all of my Vera's into the new purse and go!

I have the wallet (with the checkbook cover and a pen inside), the small cosmetics bag that holds hand sanitizer and tissues and also holds two coin purses (one holds my travel-sized medications; Tylenol, Aleve, and Pepto-Bismal)(one holds Listerine dissolving white strips and gum), and a pencil case (for tampons).

With everything contained in 3 bags, it's easy to find my cell phone, camera, I-Pod, and keys!

Ah, and I forgot I have another change purse that holds a mirror and my lipsticks/balms (the only makeup I carry with me). So I really have 4 bags (oops!). If you carry around a lot of makeup and/or hair supplies, just use a cosmetics bag instead of a change purse!

Mary Alice-

First I lied- the store is in Colonie. I mis-tyed that. And I remember that the name of that monogram is called "octagon" even though it looks more like a circle to me. Hope that helps.
