Y'all give great advice. An update to this post below...
I decided to not get in the mix. Friend is my close friend and everyone else is not significantly connected to me personally. I am going to let Friend work those relationships out on her own accord. At one point when I spoke to Friend last night, I asked her if she wanted me to be a sounding board or wanted me to offer advice. She said she didn't know. So I said that I would just listen. If she wants my advice, she will have to request it. After sleeping on it all and reading your great sage advice, I am standing by that statement to her. She needs someone to listen to her and love her without judgement and comment. And I am perfectly understanding of that need right now. So that's what I will do. Pray she works through her darkness and offer a shoulder to cry on. I know what it's like to grieve. It hits us all in such varied ways. She has to get though those feelings on her own accord. I plan to provide copious amounts or brownies though. As y'all know, they are my go-to sad day band-aid.

Listening and brownies, I always go with those as well!
I am thinking you would be a fabulous real life friend! Your decision is quite sound.
